What does your character sound like, Para? Do they have an accent of some kind or maybe some weird effect, like flanging or reverberation?

Post some examples and let us know! For those who can't, what do you imagine they sound like? For instance, with Hank I normally try to hear Tim Daily or Christopher Reeve, or some other Superman actor.

More often than not though, I hear Lord Doviculus/Tim Curry. Not sure why!

When I hear Jono in my head, he sounds pretty much like Gavin Rossdale, if you put him in an echo chamber. His voice isn't one that's heard, so much as it is felt, due to his telepathy.

Jon Snow, obviously sounds like Kit Harington, though his voice is a bit deeper, and a bit weathered-sounding, due to his time north of the wall. He's quiet by nature, and his voice carries a great deal of weight to it, such that people listen to him when he speaks.

Huey, of course, sounds like Christopher Randolph. He's got a bit of a stutter to his voice when he gets nervous (which is often), and he doesn't raise his voice above conversational level basically ever, even when he's angry. His voice it at it's best when he's working, because it's the only time he ever has any real confidence in himself.

Galadriel as played by Cate Blanchett Once more for good measure. I play Book canon, but as you can guess from my icons, I think Her Cateness was perfect for the role. When she sings, I imagine Signe Asmussen from the Tolkien Ensemble.

Catelyn Stark (as played by Michelle Fairley) being a BAMF

Xena (and Lucy Lawless)is a goddess. Metaphorically. Given the canon, I feel I need to specify. Her famous warcry and if anyone ever catches our dear Warrior Princess singing, this is what she'll sound like.

If you'd asked me back in winter when I first brought her here, I would've said Yamada sounds just like her seiyuu, the lovely Yukari Tamura.

Now, though? I've been seduced into hearing the equally lovely Brittney Karbowski as my Yamada's "voice." However, while Brittney's interpretation plays up Yamada's total lack of consideration for other people's feelings, I see Yamada as being somewhat more tender and sympathetic, as she's trying to sound moé because that's what she thinks guys going after virgins are looking for.

Alleyne's seiyuu is Eri Kitamura, who is also the voice of multiple other Paradisa characters throughout time, such as Remilia Scarlet and Sayaka Miki. However, Kitamura usually sounds squeaky in those roles.

Not this time

Alleyne is very husky and strict/military sounding. This is an almost 9 minute Drama CD track where she trains Nowa and Nanael. She first comes in around 1:30 into it and will be noticeably much deeper voices than the other two. The squeakiest and most hyper one is Nanael while the calmer, happier one is Nowa.

Crowley has always sounded like James Callis in my head. Of course, Good Omens will be a TV mini series next year, so we shall see if that ever changes. English with that Yuppie poshness - just the human he's faking he's being back on Earth.

Maladict always sounds like Silvia Colloca (the one with the long, black hair) in my head. That 'Transylvanian' lilt that all Discworld vampires have, one that's neither feminine nor masculine. Always hard to place what gender she is.

Spike is adorable and is voiced by Cathy Weseluck. He's just a regular adorable little kid.

Fenris is voiced by Gideon Emery and holy hell could I listen to that voice ALL DAY LONG. Very deep and...for some reason English. Even if he's from Tevinter. Idek. Have some more Also Gideon Emery is a Jazz singer so Fenris can actually sing. If he ever deigned to.

Haymitch is played by Woody Harrelson. I never really had a mental voice for him when I read the books, and Woody does a pretty damn good portrayal of him, so I am happy with this yup.

Bonnie: Is portrayed by the lovely and talented Katerina Graham. The actress sings in real life but it has yet to be in the show.

Vivian: Is played by the equally lovely and talented Lauren Cohan (Her scene begins around 1:15) Lauren almost always plays English characters despite being born in Philadelphia. She moved to England when she was younger.

Molotov is voiced by Mia Barron. She sounds like a normal lady with a Russian accent, mostly. Example one, example two.

Mistress sounds like... lol me doing a really smug voice? idefk. I read all my tags out loud (Molotov too, I read in a Russian accent) to make sure they sound right, so really I just associate Mistress's voice with my own. All I can say is that she's got a really haughty, smug, sort of perpetually-entertained voice. The kind of voice you have when you don't have to worry about anything ever.

Allen Walker has a pretty high voice since he's forever 16 in Paradisa. His accent is a British rural accent. I think we joked that it was a northern/yorkie one once. He tends to be pretty soft-spoken unless surprised or annoyed.

Zelos Wilder I go with his English voice in the first game. He has a pretty deep and chill voice (slightly spoilery video about his backstory). His voice gets a bit higher and sing-songy if he's acting overly perky. Accent sounds like a Californian like accent? Yay for Tales for forgetting to consider cultures who have been separated for 4,000 years might SOUND different.

Zoe Alleyne Washburne has a deep and sexy voice. Tends to be pretty short with her words, and has a slight US southern accent.

Twilight Sparkle is voiced by Tara Strong. She's good at sounding like an adorkable, very intelligent nerd, but also pulls off a very convincing batshit crazy. Her singing voice is Rebecca Shoichet, but Tara Strong does a pretty impressive singing voice herself... kind of.

Evangeline McDowell is from an anime, so she has both an English and Japanese version. I tend to imagine her with the English adaptation, so as such she's voiced by Laura Bailey. She sounds very cute and British. Supposedly. Not a lot of videos of her English voice though. :(

Zelman is voiced by Jun Fukuyama. He's got sounding smug and arrogant down to an art form. This link's nice, because you get to hear the whole range of his emotions in about ten minutes.

Headcanon-ishly I think he speaks very deliberately and fluidly, more like an expert actor than a normal human being. I also imagine he has the slightest accent, but who the heck knows what language it came from. He sure doesn't.

Since Julia is pretty much a walking spoiler, here is the link to one of her episodes (and go to 7:41). She's played by Gara Takashima in the Japanese original and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in the English dub, which is what I linked up there. All in all, I feel like she's generally pretty much consistent between her various versions.

Katniss is played by Jennifer Lawrence in her film incarnation. Honestly, my mental voice for Katniss while reading the books was pretty close to that anyway, and I pretty much think JLaw did a perfect job portraying Katniss, so that's what I'll go with :3

I found a clip of the same scene in both English and Japanese to compare! (How handy!) I actually go back and forth on which I prefer. It's very split for me, but I tend to imagine the English voice as I'm tagging. :)

Nina pretty much sounds like a normal cute, perky college girl. Her dub voice (Karen Strassman) is the voice I hear in my head when writing for her. It's very cute and eager. I love her sub voice (Mamiko Noto) too, and honestly think it's a bit cuter, but I've picked up her speech patterns from the dub and her dubbed voice along with it. I couldn't find any clips but you don't know need to watch the full episode, since she speaks within the first five minutes.

Eleven: Oh Matt smith. So awesome. HELLOOOOOO STONEHENGE I can listen to that speech forever. Seriously. Bonus round One of the minisodes from the DVDs. First Night and Last night are amazing, too... but they're SAD.

Phoebe: This, boys and girls is why you don't piss Phoebe off. That clip also has one of my favorite Phoebe quotes. Seriously. How often do you get to hear a muse cheerfully ask "Alright. Who wants to stab me?" This one is from probably about an hour before she was sucked into Paradisa.

Nora: There... isn't much of her on youtube but I found this from the opening credits. As a bonus, if you keep watching (6:32 and further) you'll see some of her art and her bedroom. Also: Samantha Mathis can sing. Not that Nora's ever going to openly admit it, but if anyone catches her singing with the radio or something :D.

Edward: She's voiced by Melissa Fawn. I actually met her at a con years ago. She was so SWEET. Edward's voice is just too much fun.

Alleria actually has a canon voice lol it's right here. She's just kind of a bitchy, tough-sounding lady I guess???? Her voice is probably a little more musical than that since this is how Vereesa sounds ... SO YEAH IDK A CROSS BETWEEN THOSE TWO PROBABLY.

Hellboy is a comics character so he doesn't really have a canon voice :T Ron Perlman voices him in the live action movies and animated films, so let's go with that. Another deep voiced dude, here is an example.

Jenny is another comics character but she has no audio adaptation screams!!!! So uhhh welp. She's apparently visually based upon Kate Moss, so here is Kate Moss. I like to think she has a bit of an Eva Green growl in her voice as well.

Sherlock talks basically a billion different ways. There's Sherlock talking really slow, really fast, getting actually frustrated, being an arrogant douchenozzle I COULD GO ON. And then sometimes he's pretending to be something he's not and it gets kinda creepy.

Generally what I've found is that people who are introduced to him before actually watching it are surprised by how deep his voice is. IS THIS THE CASE? SCIENCE EXPERIMENT.
