It's the return of the Fourth Wall Meme, and we're opening it for the next full week!

paradisa does not allow non-members to post or comment in our main community, so we're offering this as a place to roleplay with our cast. Both character journals and personal journals are welcome, as well as doubles, original characters, AUs, whatever. Not all can be applied to the main game, but they're certainly welcome here.

Premise:
You wake up in a giant, magical castle. Everything is beautiful and the castle grants material wishes. It also provides a magic journal to every resident that allows everyone to communicate with each other like a two-way radio.

Format:
[Actions] Dialogue.

IE:
[Mickey Mouse enters the room, and sits down at the kitchen table.]

Gosh, guys, is this place ever swell!

[ Looking up for the book she was currently flipping through, Belle offered her greeter a warm smile. ]

Oh, hello there!

Sorry, I don't think we've met before. My name is Hermione.

I am new around here. I sort of... showed up, to be honest. Wasn't expecting to find myself in another castle. [ Closing the book and holding it at her side, she offers her free hand to her. ] But it's lovely to meet you, Hermione. My name is Belle.

All of us show up here. That's just how the magic of the castle works. But in any case, it's lovely to meet you, Belle.

[ Of course it's a magic castle. Why is she not surprised? Ah well. ]

It's normal then for the castle to get visitors randomly? [ A thoughtful expression appears for a moment. ] I don't suppose anyone that has arrived here made mention of a place called Storybrooke, have they?

A few people have! [she whips out her journal for reference] Most recently: Henry Mills, Emma Swan, August Booth and Ruby Lucas. So you're from their world, then?

[ She nods, looking a little relieved at hearing familiar names. ] Yes, they all are. I'll need to find them while I'm here.

I know for sure that Henry is still here. You could contact him on the journal if you like. It's magical and will transmit your words to his journal, wherever he is.

[ She looks to the journal she had set on the shelf in favor of looking through some of the other books. There was no helping the moment of hesitation - it had long since sunk in that magic came at a price and using a magic book fell under her category for suspicion. ]

Are they truly that simple to use? There's no... catch to it?

Sometimes they open suddenly and catch people in awkward situations. And the privacy measures we take don't always keep. Usually, if you wanted to just talk to people from Storybrooke, you would write that in the journal and they'd be the only ones to see. But on occasion the journal chooses to reveal private conversations to the castle at large.

So I would err on the side of caution when using it.

[ See, that only confirms her suspicions when it comes to magic. Eying the journal still, she ever so carefully picked it up once more. ]

I appreciate your warning, Hermione. I will be certain to keep all of that in mind.

You're quite welcome. I live here on the fifth floor, so if you have any other questions feel free to call on me.

Thank you. [ She smiles and holds the journal at her side. ] I'm certain I'll have plenty of questions to ask so I'll try not to disturb you too often.

It wouldn't be any trouble, really. I've been investigating the castle for a while now; I don't mind sharing what I've learned.

If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been in this castle?

Two years. But some people have been here even longer than that. I know someone who's been here over six years.

For that long? [ Her eyes went wide for a moment. ] Do we ever find out what is happening at home? What we miss?

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. When you go home, it'll be as if you never left.
