Fourth Wall Meme

It's the return of the Fourth Wall Meme, and we're opening it for the next full week!

paradisa does not allow non-members to post or comment in our main community, so we're offering this as a place to roleplay with our cast. Both character journals and personal journals are welcome, as well as doubles, original characters, AUs, whatever. Not all can be applied to the main game, but they're certainly welcome here.

Premise:
You wake up in a giant, magical castle. Everything is beautiful and the castle grants material wishes. It also provides a magic journal to every resident that allows everyone to communicate with each other like a two-way radio.

Format:
[Actions] Dialogue.

IE:
[Mickey Mouse enters the room, and sits down at the kitchen table.]

Gosh, guys, is this place ever swell!

What are you gonna do?

What? Of course I remember him, I -

[we. we just left him. Barbara and I. we were going home and it's looking like we didn't make it and now she's missing and now some guy is claiming to be the Doctor out of nowhere -

really, is it any wonder Ian's low on patience.]

- Look, is this some kind of joke? I don't know who you are, or how you know all this, but you can't think I don't know the man's face. [AKA NOT YOURS.]

[Oh, Ian, you always were stubborn. No, no, deep breath, he can do patience, he's gone through worse with Ian before...]

It's all right, just checking, it's a possible side effect of where we are, and it's no joke I'm afraid. I've changed a bit since you last saw me, but I assure you, it is me. You, Susan and Barbara, all of us in the TARDIS together, and then there was Vi- [Whoa, hang on there.] Where were you before here, Ian?

[He finishes the name-] Vicki.

[Now of course Ian's encountered some pretty crazy situations in his travels, but this almost takes the cake. If this man is, somehow, who he says he is, then "changed a bit" is an understatement. But it's one of things that's just bizarre enough it might actually be true. He knows the TARDIS, and Barbara, and both the girls, but - even a traveler through time wouldn't age in reverse, would he? ... But then again ...]

... The Daleks' time machine, of course. Barbara and I both.

[If he's the Doctor, Ian shouldn't have to explain what they were doing there.]

['Changed a bit' is a lot of an understatement and he's working on explaining, but this is Ian, the hardest to convince of what is right under his nose, and besides, there's more important information to share.

The Doctor nods at Ian. He remembers when they left him. He hadn't wanted them to go.]

Vicki. She convinced me to allow you and Barbara to leave us on Mechanus. No matter the risk it was to be your choice.

Barbara's not come through with you, has she? I'm sorry Ian, she may not be here at all. This place is called Paradisa and while I'm happy to see you, it's with regret to see you here.

[By now Ian's head is absolutely reeling. The idea that this both could and couldn't possibly be the Doctor, that Barbara could be gone, and now that they haven't even made it back to Earth, much less their own time -

He finds himself moving toward the nearest chair. Almost sits down, but catches himself in the act and straightens up again. Buck up, Ian, you've got to get this figured out first.]

Paradisa. As in paradise? [Some kind of... utopian society, maybe?]

[Oh no. Not the time for that, and the Doctor is relieved when Ian doesn't sit to deal with it face on instead. Good man.]

I know it's a lot to take in. A paradise? Not what Milton envisioned, but it likes to think it is. Around fifty percent of the time, at least.
