  Fourth Wall Meme

It's the return of the Fourth Wall Meme, and we're opening it for the next full week! paradisa does not allow non-members to post or comment in our main community, so we're offering this as a place to roleplay with our cast. Both character journals and personal journals are welcome, as well as doubles, original characters, AUs, whatever. Not all can be applied to the main game, but they're certainly welcome here.

Premise:
You wake up in a giant, magical castle. Everything is beautiful and the castle grants material wishes. It also provides a magic journal to every resident that allows everyone to communicate with each other like a two-way radio.
 

Format:
[Actions] Dialogue.

IE:
[Mickey Mouse enters the room, and sits down at the kitchen table.]

Gosh, guys, is this place ever swell!

[ His youth is something remarkable to her, but perhaps not unexpected now that she has had time to consider it. Since he first walked through her door some time ago, Sofia has wanted to know so much more about him. "I am the most interesting man in your life", how arrogant... and so prophetic all the same. He's a puzzle in his own right, a book locked with an unknown cypher that she would very dearly love to crack. This dream of Paradisa only adds to that desire, much as she knows she should not expect answers here, not from anything sprung from the well of her imagination. Ah, well. Just enjoy things as they come. And speaking of... ]

Really? [ Her eyes light up her whole face, the surprised O of her mouth curving into an eager smile. ] How extraordinary!

Ezio, are you acquainted with these people? They must have so much to learn from...

[assassino]

I am, as luck would have it!

[He finds it hard to take his eyes off her. She has some sort of vivacity to her that few women can match, and he is sure of it already, even having only known this woman for a moment.

That or she's gorgeous and he's a horndog, but you know.]

You will be amazed by how different their lives are from ours... and yet the same, in many ways.

Really? The more we know... [ She trails off in a murmur, enjoying his company and the pleasant walk. It's not often she's quiet, her usual energies spent flitting all over like a hummingbird, asking every kind of question. Her parents had indulged her too much, some said, letting her fill her head with such ideas, but she was too happy they had, and that she might have found such fulfilment with her work and her shop. ]

But there is more, no? [ Is that mischief in her green eyes? Sofia rests a hand on his arm, a gentle urge to continue his tour. This is an adventure, Ezio! ]

[assassino]

Of course! [He pulls her on with him, answering mischief with mischief.] A kitchen full of luxuries from around the world, a pool for pleasure instead of bathing, a room in which one can watch memories of the past on a glass canvas... and that is just the beginning.

[letturatura]

A glass screen? Karagöz Oyunları? Hacivat ve Karagöz? [ Sofia makes a few hand motions, miming the handling of the shadow puppets she remembers so fondly from her childhood, before explaining, ]

Shadow puppetry. It is a little different in Konstantiniyye than Italy. Bayezid I popularized it in his court- you should see a show sometime, they are quite clever. [ What are tangents, Sofia. ]

oh god i've been gleeful for days but haven't had time to respond, I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE YOU

[assassino]

[His Turkish is terrible –– non-existent, really –– so he just smiles and nods, as if he knows what she's talking about in those first few words, but then he clues in. Shadow theaters. Right.]

A bit, perhaps, but everything is in colour. Everything is as vivid as your own two eyes can see, Sofia. But I will be sure to see Bayezid I's shows, if I am ever there...

[He grins.]

But what sends a Venetian woman to that corner of the world?

[ He gets the most subtle of sidelong glances at that. Surely... surely he's teasing her again, receiving a poke in the shoulder for it. ]

I should ask you the very same thing, one of these days.

I'm so thrilled!! SOFIAAAA.

[assassino]

[He tilts his head just slightly, not sure what to make of that. And then he takes a gamble on it:]

I was there to meet you, obviously.
