TEST DRIVE MEME Welcome to the Test Drive Meme! Whether you're considering joining paradisa for the first time or you just want to test out a new muse, this is the place to do it. Premise: You wake up in a giant, magical castle. Everything is beautiful and the castle grants material wishes. It also provides a magic journal to every resident that allows everyone to communicate with each other like a two-way radio.

[Felix hums thoughtfully at that and fixes the young shinigami with a piercing look, looking for any trace of magical talent. He had his own way of knowing, for example, if his brother was here, but it was for reasons he did not like discussing and was specific only to that one man.]

Yes, that would be the effect. The castle cares as little about time as it does the borders of universes.

[He'd make a dismissive gesture at that but. Books.]

So I've gathered. I didn't know about the time part though. I'll...keep that in mind.

[Really, this is all just. Frustrating. He shouldn't be bothering with some stupid castle. Not if Muraki isn't here. Not if here he can't be sure whether he might be able to gain more power to better protect Tsuzuki. He purses his lips, glancing to the side briefly. Hisoka can't help being blunt, bristling almost with his desire to leave, to find Tsuzuki. But gathering information is important too. Tsuzuki can wait, it might be easier to track him down in a bit once he has stopped running around like a kid in a toy store.]

Anything else you think I should know if I just got here?

There's a lot to learn, I'm afraid. Some of it more immediately relevant than others, depending on what you find important.

[He could drone on about the whole thing for quite awhile, as it so happened, but the kid didn't exactly look like he had the patience to sit through a whole lecture.]

The short of it is, you cannot leave until the castle sends you back. You are a resident until then. Accordingly, you...and you colleague...will have rooms and journals appointed to you. The castle will provide for your needs, and you may wish for nearly anything you need and the castle will give it to you. But know, also, that the castle is unpredictable and occasionally dangerous and extracts prices for it's gifts. You've already lost something for being here. Any questions so far?

[Hisoka listens, frowning. None of what he hears makes him any less cautious about the situation, if only getting more wary.]

I don't suppose there is any way to figure out what the...'price' is that I've lost? I don't much care right now for wishes, so long as I have the basic necessities, but that loss seems...concerning.

[The danger he could deal with. There was danger back home. Danger in being a shinigami anyway. So Hisoka isn't too concerned about that part. It's the mention of a price, something being lost, that worries him.]

[Felix shook his head] Nothing very simple. The first step would be to check your person for anything you might have carried with you. The next would be to attempt some skill you find particularly valuable to see if you are unable. The rest I imagine you'd have to locate your...colleague...to most easily confirm. [And because he can't resist asking.] What is it that you do?

I didn't really have much on me. I'd recently been released from hospital. But I'll keep that in mind.

[Hisoka is almost too distracted as he ponders and frets over this loss aspect that he nearly misses the last question. How to answer that without giving too much away?]

I'm....we're, I suppose like detectives might be the simplest way to explain.
