Premise: You wake up in a giant, magical castle. Everything is beautiful and the castle grants material wishes. ... The bad news.

Is the 'good news' the fact that you found a packet of gummied bears?

[Yeah, she's sort of noticing that weird expression thing going on. She looks between Klarion and Teekl.

Not sure which is scarier...]

Okay. The bad news. I'm sure you can probably handle this, but we're sort of stuck here for the unforeseeable future?

[Here, she'll just put that packet into his hands. Shh, shh. All is well.]

[Hold that thought Steph, Klarion's gonna teleport the heck out of here! He sits up straight, gestures with the hand that isn't holding the gummi bears, and...]

[He tries again, gesturing a little more forcefully this time, but still no luck. Teekl lets out an irritated meow, and Klarion stares at his hand as if it's turned into a piece of broccoli.]

[She's nearly cringing even before he makes the attempt.]

Easy, Klarion. It's the castle's magic. It doesn't let you go unless it feels like it. Aaaand there's no convincing it, if that just so happens to be your next train of thought...

Are you certain? I can make a very persuasive argument.

[By 'persuasive' he probably means 'explosive', oops.]

Nononono. I mean, YES, I am very, very sure. I've been here for four years, Klarion. The castle's been destroyed before and we were still here.

[But! BUT!! She smiles, trying to ease him into a sense of... not hopelessness.]

That's pretty miniscule for the bad, right? You've got your cat, you've got me, it could be a lot worse, right?

[It... sort of worked? At least he's momentarily more confused than he is frustrated!]

Four years? How is that possible? You hardly look older than when we last met!
