1. He talks to himself a lot. In Paradisa, he does it less when other people are around, but will still do it some because he's so used to people not being able to hear him that he'll forget himself.

2. His favorite nightmares are still kids' nightmares, but since there are way more adults than kids in Paradisa, he's been branching out a lot.

3. Even if Pitch doesn't personally like or get along with someone, if they're a true believer of his (mortal; Guardians and other spirits or spirit-like beings don't count) he'll be irritated if they leave the castle. Other immortal entities (spirits and gods, the castle) attempting to destroy the residents may meet with his ire unless he thinks they have a good reason for doing what they do, because they're attacking his believers. Mortals attacking mortals will be much less irritating to him, because that's just people being people; he might see it as bad luck for him (the danger of losing a believer), but it's much less likely that he'll see it as something that he should consider intervening in. Immortal (spirit/god) believers won't inspire the same kind of feelings in him, because he considers it a given that they see/believe in him.

4. Overall, he considers mortals and immortals to be very separate from each other in most ways. He sees himself as very much above (but not always superior to) mortals.

5. He makes use of the wish system in Paradisa, but he moderates himself. Mostly he's used it to decorate his room-- he's made most of it look like his cave-like, underground lair at home. There's also a couple rooms off to the side that are more traditional-- a bedroom with a huge, soft bed, and a bathroom with a sink and big bathtub. He doesn't technically need to sleep or wash or anything like that, but he can if he wants to, and who doesn't like relaxing on comfy beds or in hot baths?

6. He's really, really, really lonely. Part of it's because of how old he is, a big part of it is that it's hard to find someone who wants to spend much time around such an unrepentant douchebag, and part of it's because he actively tries not to get attached to mortals because of their limited lifespans.

7. For those who know the canon: he thinks of the castle as similar to the Man in the Moon, and will talk to it sometimes. He assumes it can hear and understand him, even if it chooses not to answer.

8. Every time he encounters someone in person and they can see him-- no matter what their reactions to him are-- he revels in it.

9. He doesn't consider himself bad or evil, but he doesn't care if other people do. He really doesn't see anything wrong with spreading and feeding off of fear, even though he's well aware of the side effects it can have (witch burnings, anyone?). If given enough time and mental distance, he might be willing to admit that his actions in canon (trying to completely take over the world with fear) were over the top, but he'd still completely blame the Guardians for his actions and say that if they hadn't tried to stamp him out entirely, he wouldn't have been desperate enough to go to such extremes.

10. There were times throughout history when he would meet a child who not only believed in him, but liked to be scared (think the kind of person who loves watching horror movies with the lights off, goes to all the haunted houses/haunted hayrides during Halloween time, etc.). He developed a rather amicable relationship with some of them.

1. Despite being horribly tonedeaf, Conan has perfect pitch. His singing is awful, and he can't sing a note on tune at all. But if you give the frequency to him in megahertz he can hit the note exactly.

2. Shinichi's parents moved to America when he was 14. He lived on his own in their house in Japan until he was 17.

3. Shinichi spent those three years traveling all over Japan and solving difficult cases.

4. Conan cannot cook. At all. He also tends to forget to eat if he has an interesting puzzle to work on.

5. Conan is fluent in English, and knows at least some Italian and Russian. He can also read braille, and is very good at breaking codes.

6. Shinichi's parents are ridiculously rich. His father is a famous mystery author, and his mother is a retired actress. They own houses in Hawaii, New York, London, and several places in Japan. They are also complete trolls who do things like show up in the middle of the night to shoot him with water pistols or kidnap him on a short vacation.

7. If he hadn't quit the soccer team in favor of detective work, Shinichi could have been recruited to play professionally.

8. Conan worked a few cases with some FBI agents who were in Japan illegally.

9. Conan knows how to fly a small plane, defuse bombs, fire a gun, hack computers, pick locks, drive a car, snowboard, skateboard, and many other things beside. If you asked him where he learned all this, he'd say that his father taught him in Hawaii.

10. He has no idea why people get upset when he mentions the hundreds of murder cases he's seen. He stumbles across them everywhere he goes. Its normal to him.

1. Danny speaks Esperanto.

2. When he was a kid, his Dad once sent his house into an alternate dimension for a week.

3. Danny is smart, but lazy about schoolwork.

4. Danny is forever confused about what he is. Is he a ghost? Is he a human? He just doesn't know.

5. He loves bowling and really terrible monster movies.

6. Danny is lonely. He doesn't show it most of the time, but its always on his mind that there is no one else out there that is like him.

7. Danny still has nightmares about T-Rexes and the Event Horizon. THANK YOU PARADISA.

8. Danny doesn't actually like himself that much. He's always judging himself, and feeling like he's not doing a good enough job. He calls himself a hero, but he doesn't always think he's living up to it. And he is terrified of ever becoming evil, even if its just a castle event.

9. Danny spends at least a few hours most nights out patrolling as a ghost. He also sleeps in as long as he can get away with.

10. At the center of Danny's ghost side is a frozen core that constantly produces ice. If Danny doesn't go out every few days and expend some of the ice energy it will build up and freeze everything around him.

[personal profile] superheroine 2014-03-30 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Her last name is "Walker" but she seldom uses it because she has dealt with so many fake names over the years to facilitate her criminal activities. These fake names include Kelly Nieman, Julia Brasher, Michelle Cotten, Diana Bloom, Kate Fisher, etc. "Walker" is a reference to her actress Annie Wersching's role as Renee Walker in 24, and the other names are from Annie Wersching's other roles over the years. It's funny, go with it.

2. She had a bad experience with a horse once, and so is afraid of them. This experience was early in her smuggling days, when she and Joel stole some horses to take a trip out to Bill's, and it has stuck with her since. Horses sucks.

3. In fact, she just does not like animals. They're extra mouths to feed at best and lethal at worst. Although she'll never admit it, she is afraid of reptiles. Not even Joel knows this, given that there aren't many surviving reptiles in the quarantine zone and surrounding area.

4. She grew up in a very pro-gun household and has always been very comfortable around weapons, so a fully-automatic machine gun is as comfortable in her hands as her preferred Browning Hi-Power pistol. Granted, she does have a bias against Glocks, as they have too much drag on the trigger –– you can't double-tap easily with a Glock, and Tess loves to double-tap.

5. Even in a post-breakdown society, she keeps her armpits shaved and eyebrows neat. She has her vanities.

6. Her trademark punishment for traitors (assuming she wants to keep them alive) is to break all of their fingers. Her victims then have trouble seeking proper medical attention, given that it would open them up to suspicion from officials, but they also have trouble seeking any legitimate work, seeing that mutilated hands are a massive disadvantage in a society that values people mostly for their capability for hard labour. Needless to say, people don't double-cross Tess much.

7. She'd get married and have kids if she thought Joel were up to it. Given their situation back home and the precariousness of their life in Paradisa, she doesn't consider it very likely, and so hasn't brought it up.

8. She's a former Firefly. There was a time where she was a starry-eyed activist with dreams of saving the world, but then her brother was killed at a military checkpoint because of a Firefly terrorist bombing. She was out that day.

9. She thinks that Titanic was a movie and not a real event. It's a consequence of the world going to shit when she was nineteen: she missed out on a lot of growing up, and her perception of the world before outbreak is very much frozen at nineteen.

10. Growing up in a military family and then seeing the military turn against the people it was supposed to protect has given her a massive anti-authority complex. She is her own authority, so the vast majority of the time, it's her way or the highway.

1. Will's favorite meal is Liver and Bacon. Yes, he knows what most people think of that. He finds it amusing.

2. Will is a seventh son of a seventh son. He has five older brothers and three older sisters.

3. Will's eldest brother died in infancy. Will didn't find out about him until he was 11.

4. Will exists outside of time. He doesn't think of time as linear. For Will, every moment in time is happening at the same time.

5. Will sings in the choir at his church. He's really a very good singer, and he won a few festivals in London.

6. Will speaks every language, but Latin is his favorite.

7. Will's best friend was King Arthur's legitimate son, who was brought forward to the 1970s by Merlin and grew up as a Welsh shepherd's son. Will was meant to be his advisor and friend, as Merlin was advisor and friend to Arthur.

8. Every spring, Will goes out to watch the first flowers of the year growing through the snow.

9. Will has been called the Signseeker, the Youngest of the Old, and the Watchman of the Light.

10. Will is immortal. This doesn't mean he won't age or that he can't be hurt. And he has no special healing ability. He just can't ever die.

1. Aside from his sister, the person from home that Simon misses the most right now is Kaylee. He deeply regrets waiting so long to tell her how he felt and just wants to hold her and tell her he loves her.

2. Simon still takes care to dress professionally and stay well-groomed. He just doesn't feel right if he looks sloppy. (Of course, his standards for "sloppy" probably aren't the same as everyone else's...)

3. When he's at his lowest, feeling like he has to look out for Katniss is one of the only things that keeps him going.

4. Simon's not big on sharing his past (or what he can remember of it, anyway) with others, even after having been in Paradisa for so long and having heard so many stories from others, because part of him is still afraid he'll be judged for it.

5. He tends to err on the side of politeness when addressing people; when he knows they have a title, he'll use it unless they tell him not to (hence why Galadriel is always "lady", Elsa is "Majesty" etc.)

6. Simon's most secret desire is to have a together, stable and loving family again. He doesn't regret what he did, nor does he resent River for it, but he misses the warmth and comfort of having a family.

7. Simon has also never resented River for being smarter than he is- especially because she still big-brother-worships him despite it, and he just loves her so much.

8. Simon's actor has a quirk/tic where he sticks his fingers in his mouth a lot, so I try to incorporate that into his tags.

9. He's never quite sure what to do when he encounters people for whom space travel isn't commonplace.

10. Simon is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

1. The body Meg is possessing (and very much stuck in, thanks to what she thinks her original loss was) was a girl from Sheboygan who moved to L.A. to be an actress. Guess you could say she landed one hell of a role! (I'll just leave.)

2. Meg can teleport, as well as become invisible if she doesn't want to be seen. She doesn't use these things much around Paradisa unless there's a threat or for convenient plotting purposes, but she could technically be spying at any moment ;) She is also powerful enough to whip up a strong gust of wind, pin 2 or 3 grown men to the wall/ceiling at once, and crack entire ceilings into pieces.

3. If the vaulted ceiling that reflects the sky outside and fluffy light blue and white linens in her room look oddly... angelic for a demon, it's because the space was originally Castiel's room, which she moved into shortly before he went home. She will probably never change it.

4. Now that her human conscience is restored, Meg's mind is a constant battleground between the dark memories of her past that twisted and corrupted her soul in the first place, and the emotions she can no longer shut off. She hides it well (aside from generally being kind of a bitch) but homegirl is a wreck. She displays typical PTSD tendencies, and suffers from an extraordinary amount of guilt over all her past misdeeds. She likes to think it's all safely covered up behind a thick wall of rude commentary and sarcasm.

5. Meg is, unsurprisingly, also exceedingly competent with dark witchcraft.

6. Meg is fairly isolated at this point in Paradisa. She only has a few friends left, and even those she's wary of losing. She's still sorting out the whole feelings thing, though, so she most certainly gets lonely. A lot.

7. She apprenticed under Alastair, the so-called "Grand Inquisitor" of hell in her world. Put plainly, was schooled, presumably for hundreds or possibly thousands of years, in the arts of torture. As Silva found out the really really hard way, she can even biokinetically screw up anyone's insides enough to make them spit up blood with a simple twist of her hand. Don't worry, she saves that party trick for special occasions.

8. Her age is unspecified in canon, but in 1913, Meg was already high up enough in the ranks of hell to be personally shown all of Lucifer's crypts. Given that in her canon, 1 month in hell = 10 years on earth and demons were very rarely freed from hell during that timeframe, this makes her (at the very least) ~12,000 years old. She hints several times at being much, much older than that, and her high rank correlates with that. During a panel in 2012, the actress that played her (Rachel Miner) said that she likes to think that the girl who became the demon 'Meg' was originally from the renaissance era. This is game canon in Paradisa, since she remembered Florence for what it was and was thoroughly unimpressed to be back. This consequently puts her at ~60,000 years old.

9. 'Meg Masters' is an assumed identity, the name of the girl she originally possessed to befriend Sam Winchester. Since that's how the boys knew her from the get-go, it stuck. At one point, while being interrogated, she confesses that she has "lots of names."

10. She smokes menthols, drinks whiskey like it's water, and generally dresses in tight jeans, boots, and leather jackets. Total biker-chick vibe, though she sometimes dresses down a bit more in Paradisa.

1. Jennifer suffers from insomnia, which gets worse in times of high stress (or when something is going on and her clinic is full). She keeps it under control with medication.

2. Jennifer was never sociable and devoted a lot of her free time to her studies; she is thus not very pop culture-savvy and this fact sometimes embarrasses her.

3. Going to Atlantis was the first time she'd been far away from home; she grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and went to college in Madison. She's a homebody and never saw much of a reason to be away.

4. She'd never had any pets before inheriting Blue and Marie, but now can't imagine not having them. She often talks about her problems to them.

5. Jennifer was secretly a little glad to be relieved of the burden of having to run her clinic. Thanks to her insecurity, she sometimes didn't feel like she was worthy of handling it on her own.

6. Jennifer's an only child and her mother died a few years before she went to Atlantis (canon), and most of her extended family is dead or lives far away (headcanon). She thus always had a good, close relationship with her parents, and one of her biggest fears is dying, because she's not sure her dad could handle losing her.

7. She sometimes dislikes her quiet and shy personality and wishes she were more outgoing.

8. Jennifer joined the Stargate program because she wanted to prove to herself that she could spread her wings and leave home if she really wanted to.

9. She's only had a few romantic relationships in life; however, they all lasted several years. She only dates someone if she believes it's serious.

10. Jennifer has a fear of parasites, especially inside a person's body; this stems from an incident where a classmate in med school hid a snake inside a cadaver after hearing how the chest-burster in Alien scared her.

1. James Bond inspired Castle to be a writer. He's read every book and seen every movie at least once, and sometimes regrets turning down the offer he had to write more (but only a little).

2. He feels like he's the happiest he's ever been in his life at his current canonpoint.

3. In Paradisa, he's written a lot of short stories and vignettes/scenes, a lot of which is pseudo-fanfiction starring thiny-veiled expies of Paradisa residents. He never intends to publish them, though.

4. In canon, when he got Meredith (his first ex, Alexis' mother) pregnant, he made the conscious decision to grow up and be a good father.

5. Pure headcanon, but when Alexis was little, he read to her a lot and this was how they bonded most strongly.

6. He still sometimes has nightmares about 3XK, and some part of him has a totally irrational fear that he'll show up in Paradisa some day.

7. Castle views Ryan and Esposito as the brothers he never had.

8. He will never get tired of "yo, we heard you like Castle so there's a Castle in your castle" jokes.

9. Though Castle tends to be an open person, he's going to keep what happened during his canon update close to his chest for a while.

10. He is going to stalk the crap out the journals to see who talks to Alexis.

1. She's fluent in three Middle Earth languages: Quenya, Sindarin, and Westron. I also headcanon that she knows the tiniest amount of Khazdul (the Dwarven language).

2. She was the youngest of five children and the only girl; she's also the only one who is still alive.

3. She identifies as Noldor, but her husband is Sindarin. It's a mixed culture marriage.

4. She is extremely musically inclined. She has a wonderful singing voice and canonically plays the harp; I tend to think she can also play several other instruments because, hey, she's had the time to learn.

5. She adores children. She only had one, herself, but she has three grandchildren and every single one of them was spoiled rotten as a kid.

6. When she was very young and didn't yet have her foresight under complete control, she would sometimes have terrible ominous nightmares that she didn't understand (until later).

7. She also loves animals, but she's never had pets of her own (before Paradisa. She..technically has a pokemon here). For an immortal, it's just not worth it; the lifespan of a cat or a dog is just the blink of an eye.

8. In Paradisa, she keeps a book of notes, separate from the journal. It's written in a mix of Sindarin and Quenya, using the tengwar writing system.

9. She knows that she's beautiful, but for the most part she's not vain about it/really doesn't care. The exception to this is her hair. She is very careful with it, very fussy about who gets to touch it, and if she ever had to cut it for some reason, she would be crushed.

10. Her grandfather was a king, her father is a king, but you will never hear her introduce herself as a princess- it's always 'the Lady of Lórien.' There are several reasons for this, ranging from sentimental to practical.

1. The very first thing that she was able to do with wizardry was to speak with a tree.

2. She became fast friends with a shark that was supposed to eat her as a sacrifice during a very complex and dangerous wizardry (She loves you Ed). Meaning, yes, she was prepared to die for the Greater Good at age 13.

3. She has killed sentient life forms, but never a human. She hopes she never has to.

4. She has a major thing for her best friend/wizarding partner, Kit. She is not ready to admit this out loud.

5. Her mother passed away from a brain tumor fairly recently. She does okay most of the time, but sometimes something will remind her of her and she'll tear up.

6. Until she became a wizard at 13, she was beaten up on a regular basis.

7. In case you haven't realized by my post titles yet, Journey is among her favorite bands.

8. She has been to Ireland and fought alongside the Sidhe.

9. She has also been to other planets, other galaxies, and other Universes.

10. She's not crazy about her full name (Juanita), but she hates her middle name. Which is Louise.
themuse: (☕ in a place where dreams are made)

[personal profile] themuse 2014-03-30 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
☕ Kate loves to cook and is a junk food addict. Because of her fast-paced life at home she tends to live off of fast food and her fair share of candy to keep her going, but she really loves being able to prepare and enjoy a nice, rounded meal - especially more so nowadays when she has someone to share it with.

☕ Her first year of college, Kate was a huge fan of the TV show Nebula 9; so much so, that she would attend conventions and cosplay "Lt. Chloe" from the show. To this day she still loves the show and looks at the character she adored as inspiration for who she is now.

☕ Kate is very close to her father, and has a similar relationship with him that Alexis and Castle have. Her dad knows her better than anyone else and while her mother's death and her joining the police caused some tension between them, it was that bond that helped her assist him in overcoming his alcoholism.

☕ She also sees a lot of herself in Alexis and feels like she understands her and her motivations very well.

☕ For a coffee addict, Kate was essentially incapable of making herself a decent cup of coffee. Having Castle do it for her for so many years has helped but she still prefers it when he does it.

☕ Kate actually put up with a lot of teasing and some bullying on the force when Castle starting writing about her, but she never told him about it in detail. It wasn't quite as bad as what Heat put up with in the books, and Kate's reputation and professionalism kept it under control.

☕ Even though Kate has come a long way since her shooting, she still occasionally has nightmares and anxiety attacks associated with her personal trauma and her mother's murder.

☕ When she was a teenager, Kate worked to save up for her first motorcycle, a Harley Softail, which she still owns.

☕ She would have agreed to go on a date with Castle as early as the Heat Wave release party if he had asked. Instead, he talked about the case like an oblivious bonehead.

☕ Kate usually wears her engagement ring on a chain around her neck with her mother's ring because of her job. Since she's no longer a cop in Paradisa, she will likely take to wearing it on her hand more often.
firethroat: (Poems of the wind)

[personal profile] firethroat 2014-03-31 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
1. Firethroat is the oldest of Luster's seven dragons.

2. She used to live on Earth! However, magic began diminishing with the rise of humans, and eventually dragons had to leave in order to survive. Knights trying to kill them off didn't help much either...

3. Back on Luster, Firethroat's neighbor is a dwarf! They actually get along quite well, to the point where she has given him permission to dig within her territory.

4. She is loosely allied to the unicorns, and by "loosely" she means that if one crosses her or threatens her territory, she will have no qualms about eating them. This is well known amongst unicorns, and they generally avoid her unless unavoidable.

5. Firethroat is one of the few dragons who actually visits Earth from time to time. When she does, She cannot stay long and only goes to remote places far from humans.

6. Dragons like Firethroat love bargains. They are surprisingly considerate during a bargain, and if they are not pleased with an offering, they will simply return it to the original owner and request something else.

7. Despite the animosity between dragons and humans, Firethroat has a number of human friends and allies.

8. Dragons are creatures of their word. Dangerous as she may be, if Firethroat says she will not eat you, you are probably safe (for the time being at least).

9. Firethroat has her heart magicked into a treasure chest. This makes her pretty much invulnerable, but if someone gets a hold of the chest, she must do their bidding. The only way to kill her is to stab her heart.

10. Rumor has it she does not suffer fools. While there is some truth to this, she prefers an honest fool to a cunning liar.

Humans do have that effect on magic, don't they.

Indeed they do. I was never quite sure if it was intentional or merely part of their being.

I can tell you from my own experience that it's almost always the latter.

1. During Dairine's first time on an alien planet, she spent the first few minutes trying to talk to someone's luggage. To be fair, she thought it was an alien because it could walk.

2. The first thing Dairine did after getting her wizardry was make a copy of her Wizard's Manual. This wasn't the last copy she made either.

3. Dairine had a good bit of trouble with her Manual's syntax for the first 24-48 hours of using it. However, as it has gained increasing amounts of personality and sentience, their difficulties at communicating have virtually disappeared.

4. Before Dairine became a wizard, she was quite a prankster. She often got in trouble, notable examples being putting curlers in her neighbors' dog's fur.

5. In her younger years, Dairine beat up bullies and frightened people into liking her. This made her "popular" at her school, but all she wanted was for people to leave her alone to like the things she liked in peace.

6. Dairine is a huge geek. Not only does she love Star Wars with a passion, but she also collect X-Men comics and often wears geek-culture T-shirts while saving the universe (including a Batman one that is really her sister's).

7. She broke the jaw of an alien raptor-like hunting lizard... with a laptop. When she was eleven.

8. When she was eleven, Dairine also created a new species of living, sentient supercomputers on a planet which is also a living computer. They are all wizards, call her Mother or Creator, and the first 2000 were all named by her. That's right; Dairine has 2000 children already, and she loves them all.

9. She has actually met the Doctor in canon. Five, to be exact. It was only once and they never got each other's names, but he saved her life. She is very grateful.

10. Dairine had the entire Manual programmed into her mind for a while after her Ordeal was over. This means that although she is still human (slowlife), she is also part computer or machine (quicklife). It's confusing for everyone, and the effect fades over time when she's away from the Motherboard planet.

By carefully mentioning no names or blue boxes and letting the characterization speak for itself, that's how. ;)

It is. :D

Dairine goes out looking for Darth Vader and finds the Doctor instead. Not a bad trade off if I say so myself.

You didn't, but I'm not surprised to see it. XD

There's no doubt about it! She also wrote some stuff with Four (specifically a brief cameo in a Star Trek novel), but not quite as much as Five.

1. Sugar always wears the same outfit in series. Even when she goes to bed, all she does is take her hat and shoes off. (I like to think she has more than one copy or that Saga washes it when Sugar takes her bath.)

2. Sugar sleeps in a music box normally, though she has also slept in a flower bed, on a roof, and in a pile of stuffed animals.

3. Sugar calls waffles "waffos." No real reason, other than she probably misheard it the first time and never gave it up.

4. Sugar makes snow indoors more often than she does so outdoors during her apprenticeship.

5. Sugar can make a snowball if she plays her snow-making song really fast. She hasn't tried this in Paradisa yet, but she might learn.

6. Sugar is easily scared of creepy things and animals that are bigger than her, like Joe the Crow, her nemesis.

7. She likes to play with songbirds though she can't understand them like her friend Pepper can.

8. Sugar is actually the only apprentice in her grade to think twinkles are shiny. The others think twinkles are comfy, warm, and fluffy. (They all, in a way, are right.)

9. Sugar was supposed to live on her own in the Human World for an extracurricular school assignment before arriving in Paradisa. Thankfully, living with humans is allowed, because she nearly starved on her first day.

10. Sugar and the other apprentices are woefully ignorant about the Human World for fairies that are supposed to be living in it until their last lesson is done. Sugar didn't know what foods humans eat, what most human things are called, or even that humans also go to school.

1. Despite being an avid theater-goer and often discussing the finer points of performances, Felix somewhat sneers at fiction in general. He much prefers the things he can learn from non-fiction. However, in Paradisa, he's loosened his standards somewhat, ever since Mark introduced him to Shakespeare. Tragedies and romances are his favorite.

2. As fancy as he dresses, Felix does not wear perfume or use heavily scented soaps because they remind him of being in a brothel.

3. Felix has a crippling phobia of deep water. The thief-keeper that more or less owned him at the time used to hold his children under the river as punishment. In canon, he says he can't recall how many he watched died but that he himself almost drowned five times between the age of six and eleven, when his keeper died.

4. He is ridiculously powerful within his own canon. His raw magical power was used to shatter a magical artifact that was the focus point for nearly all of the magical wards that protected the Mirador, and he later repaired same artifact more or less on his own. He also killed his own master by burning him from the inside out and sent another basically mad just by looking at him.

5. All wizards in his canon have a personalized appearance to the "witchlights" spell that seems to known to all of them. His own take the form of pale green chrysanthemums (though, personally, I imagine this to be stylized rather than literal).

6. He had not once said "I love you" to anyone, due to a lingering childhood fear that to do so was to invite losing that person - at least until his former lover Gideon showed up in Paradisa. The fact that he very quickly afterwards was sent home has only reinforced this.

7. Headcanon here, but since drawing symbols and diagrams are sometimes a large part of certain magic rituals, Felix is actually a more than passable sketch artist.

8. Felix speaks Marathine and Midlander, and had a basic understanding of Kekropian and Troian - i.e. in Earth languages translates to Anglo-French (meaning he'd sort of understand French and English but not quite), Italian, Latin, and Greek, respectively.

9. He is good at courtly type dances only because the steps were sort of drilled into his head by his master. Outside of that he's actually fairly clumsy and is known to trip, stumble, and bump into things rather often in canon (exacerbated by the fact that he's nearly blind in his right eye).

10. In canon, as a Cabaline wizard, Felix wears a full set of ten rings meant to help channel his magic. His first set was silver and moonstone. His second set are massive gold rings set with garnet, gifted to him by the Troians. He did not arrive in Paradisa wearing them (his brother was carrying them for him when Felix was exiled from Melusine) and has not attempted to wish them up because he does not yet feel he deserves to have them.

1. Duke can understand animals - its some weird thing that people probably think came from hanging out with his giant monster friend, but really animal noises just make sense to him.

2. He doesn't believe in any higher powers on his world. Fate is bullshit, the goddess is a human creation, and the Entelexeia are awesome, but not deities.

3. He is still 38 due to castle-no-aging. He clearly discovered the way to look young is to say "fuck everything, I am going to live in the woods."

4. Duke likes to avoid conflict. The last big conflict he was in was a war, and it ended up with him losing his best friend the giant monster shape-shifter. So now he just sort of ignores people and avoids arguments unless minor buttons get pushed.

5. Because he's avoided people, and when he has encounters involving violence they're usually a "I'm going to kill that thing" sort, he has trouble fighting "nice" / pulling blows.

6. While he will never say so, Duke is incredibly strong and skilled with both magic and sword. It is implied by characters that Duke was stronger than said giant monster friend, and the way he uses magic doesn't fall into the explained rules. Duke crafts his own spells - so everything that has a non-combat use that he uses in Paradisa was modified or made by him.

7. Headcanon, Duke does not deal well with getting blood on him. This plays into his fighting style - manipulating his sword with magic - and is due to trying to stop a certain giant creature from bleeding out when healing magic didn't work.

8. Duke gets tunnel vision - often blocking out things like 'right, I need to eat' or 'there could be another way that works' when he picks a goal to meet.

9. He rarely forgets those who have been nice / mean / rude to him. Unfortunately, he remembers and focuses on negative things more than positive ones.

10. The easiest way to get Duke enraged / violent is to betray someone or have done so. He doesn't understand why anyone would do so purposefully, and having been betrayed, can't stand the people who would / have done so.
